Costs of the ConREM programme

Semester Fee

Despite the released Finnish tuition fee, all ConREM students are required to pay a semester fee (around 100 euro/semester) in every study semester to HTW Berlins account, thus ensuring their right to study in the ConREM programme. By paying the full amount of the semester fee before the start of every semester, students automatically re-register for the next semester. This means that ConREM students who are starting their studies in Finland are also required to pay the semester fee for the HTW Berlin`s account for each semester spent there and have to re-register (i.e. registration for the next semester) as usual for each upcoming semester.

In addition, if it takes more time than expected to complete the ConREM programme, ConREM students must continue to pay the semester fee for the HTW Berlin for each extra semester. Additionally, in this case, the Metropolia UAS will also charge Degree students separately, with an extra 50€ for each semester for extension of their studies.

Transportation Costs

For the time spent in Helsinki, each ConREM student can become a student union member (approx. 30 euro/semester) and can get a public transportation card (approx. 150 euro/semester) for the Helsinki region. During the students’ study time in Berlin, the paid semester fee will be integrated into the StudentCard, which can be also used for public transport in Berlin (zone ABC).

Living Expenses / Accomodation

In addition, students are required to individually cover their daily expenses. For basic expenses in Helsinki, ConREM students should budget at least 800 to 1,000 euro/semester. Approx. 600 to 830 euro/semester is required to cover the cost of living in Berlin. For a detailed budget calculation, please see here (Helsinki) and here (Berlin).

Student residences in Helsinki and Berlin are not administered by the universities. Instead, they are administered by independent organisations:
